For over 40 years, the MIT Sea Grant College Program has brought the research and engineering core of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to bear on ocean-related challenges. MIT Sea Grant provides coastal and ocean engineering education, and provides resources to build resilient communities and economies through training and workforce development. With a strong focus on environmental literacy, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, and maintaining healthy coastal ecosystems, MIT Sea Grant works to engage citizen scientists to help create the ocean stewards of tomorrow. MIT Sea Grant is part of a nationwide network of 33 university-based Sea Grant programs. Funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Sea Grant promotes the conservation and sustainable development of marine resources through research, education, and outreach.
