Saturday Engineering Enrichment and Discovery (SEED) Academy is a free five-and-a-half year academic enrichment and career exploration program for public school students from Boston, Cambridge and Lawrence, Massachusetts who have a strong academic record and interest in science and engineering.
Each SEED Academy module focuses on a different technical discipline – from mechanical engineering to robotics to biological engineering. Through a hands-on instructional approach, students increase their mastery of academic subjects, strengthen their understanding of the practical application of math and science concepts, discover new academic and professional opportunities, and gain exposure to a college environment.
Class sizes vary each year, but average approximately 25, with a total of 80-100 students enrolled in the fall semester, and 120-130 in the spring after the program admits a new class.
There is no minimum GPA to apply. Students are expected to have a final grade of at least B in all school classes throughout their time in SEED Academy.
