A collaborative group of researchers from MIT, Boston University, and the University of Delaware is organizing an outreach event for middle and high school students (primarily to support and encourage female/URM students in STEM) on Microrobotics and Synthetic Biology. Students will learn how concepts of robotics can foster the development of new biological systems and applications.
Prof. Sambeeta Das will introduce participating students to microrobotics, and Dr. Rashmi Mohanty will follow discussing the importance of microrobotics in biological applications. Students will then get the opportunity to experience what they learned hands-on by controlling magnetically-driven microrobots and guiding them in biological systems.
We will organize the event in two sessions on Saturday, March 9: the Morning session (10-11:30 am) and the afternoon session (1-2:30 pm). The event will take place at 500 Technology Square (behind the Area Four restaurant), MIT NE47-189, Cambridge, MA. Free to participate! RSVP is requested but not required.
